Saluting the accomplishments of businesses and the contributions they make to our area’s economy, this award lauds a South Columbia County Chamber member business which has exhibited exemplary leadership, business growth and service to the community. The recipient will be recognized as a leader in the business community and as serving as positive example of business practices.
This will be awarded to the South Columbia County Chamber member and/or member employee, volunteer, or staff who has distinguished themselves above all others in the arena of business, and benefitting the business community of South Columbia County. The honoree will be a positive example of respectful leadership, commitment to business growth and community impact.
This will be awarded to the standout citizen of South Columbia County who has made our community a better place and therefore better for business. This award is open to any and all citizens of South Columbia County. A nominee will have made personal contributions over a period of years (outside of regular work duties) that have contributed to the welfare and advancement of South Columbia County. This personal contribution is typically rendered through civic, community, or religious work as well as their achievements in their chosen field of business.
This will be awarded to the business, non-profit, or service organization that is deemed to have made the greatest positive impact on South Columbia County. This business should also support the Chamber through participation of going above and beyond for the greater benefit of the community.
This will be awarded to the person or organization that specifically contributed to the promotion of business in South Columbia County. Presented to acknowledge exceptional commitment to South Columbia County, the Commerce Advocate of the year is presented to an individual or group, who through their career, has gone beyond the call of duty of contributions, improvement and promotion for the business community. This award is not necessarily picked annually but on an as warranted basis.
Presented to a person under the age of 21 in South Columbia County for their efforts in the area of Business, Community Development, Ingenuity, Volunteerism, or Achievement in South Columbia County.
Each of the above awards are intended to be scheduled to be awarded annually at the South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting, however each honor is awarded at the discretion of the South Columbia County Chamber Board of Directors and may not be awarded every year.
Criteria for all the above awards: They must own a business, or be the principal employee with a business that has a substantial history of continuing operations for more than five years. The business must have demonstrated growth in the number of employees, sales or other criteria of success in its industry. The business must have demonstrated growth in the number of employees. The business must have sound financial history. The individual should have demonstrated the ability to withstand and overcome difficult circumstances. The individual must be a current member of the South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce who has made a contribution to the community in a commitment of time and other resources. Exceptions for Community Impact & Rising Star Awards, for which nominations are open to all South Columbia County citizens and or organizations as described in the award description.
