Office Hours vary. Please call our office at (503) 397-0685 to schedule an appointment so we can give you our attention. We host and co-host many chamber events, collaboration meetings, visit our members and volunteer for our community.
The South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is excited to introduce its newest employee, Gretchen Williams.
Gretchen has been hired as the new Visitors Center Representative for South Columbia County and will be housed at the South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. With hours Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm, her primary duties will be to provide concierge services to visitors of the Columbia County area. She will be responsible for providing information to visitors about area attractions, transportation, dining, lodging and other items of interest to visitors.
With initial funding provided by the cities of Scappoose and St Helens, the Chamber is pleased to offer dedicated and more comprehensive support for tourism and guests to our region. “We are thrilled at the prospect of expanding our services in the Visitors Center and thanks the cities for their support. This is an increasingly vital role and we have full confidence that Gretchen is a great addition to our team,” says Chamber Board member Kelly Marks.

The South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce is a multi-municipality membership-based business-focused not-for-profit organization dedicated to the success and improved economic viability of our service area and surrounding regions. The South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce provides programs, events, information and education, advocacy and other member benefits designed to serve our member partners. The Chamber Manager is the primary agent for the Chamber deliverables.
The Chamber Manager manages all resources and implements priorities established by the Board of Directors supporting the organization’s mission, goals and purposes and is responsible for the daily operation and ultimate success of the organization. The Chamber Manager is charged with increasing the membership and sponsorship accounts and maintaining relationships with existing sponsors and members. The Chamber Manager is an at will employee of the Board of Directors.

Working Conditions and Environment This job requires sustained mental effort related to communication, problem solving, contact with the public, organizational issues, planning and technical areas as well as local travel, public speaking, and occasional non-standard hours.
The working environment is varied, can be fast paced and requires multitasking. There is sustained exposure to public contact, sitting, standing, and moderate computer and data work.
