Ashalynn Bowers

Director of Communications

Ashalynn is in the office TuesdayThursday & Friday from 10am-2pm and Wednesday from 10am-NOON. With a background in graphics design, Ashalynn is ready to assist with any marketing, events & social media needs for our members! And for those who may be calling in or stopping in need of assistance, a member referral is always a top priority. Ashalynn is our marketing expert, her social media skills will impress and her flair for advertising will inspire. As our Director of Communications, she provides the following Chamber services:

 

  • Assisting with reservations for use of the Chamber facilities (for events held during and after work hours)
  • Scheduling and facilitating Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies (typically one per month)
  • Planning & Facilitating monthly Chamber Networking Events (Coffee & Commerce/ Happy Hour)
  • Publishing SCC Newsletter (the first of each month) and our SCC Bulletins (throughout the month)
  • Participating in community events (through promotion and/or attending on behalf of the Chamber)
  • Managing The Chambers Social Media Pages & Website
  • Assisting Members with marketing their events & promotions
  • Planning Chamber Annual Awards Banquets
  • Facilitating Monthly Chamber Board Meetings
  • Creating Board meeting agendas 
  • Creating content, ads, flyers and managing all branding and design for the chamber. 
  • Managing Chamber surveys and maintaining member connections 

Ashalynn is available daily via email at communications@scchamber.org to answer all your tech and marketing questions. She is happy to assist with all Chamber inquires and is open to all concerns and improvement ideas!

Outreach Director

Jak is in the office Wednesday from NOON – 2pm Thursday from 10am – 2pm to answer all of your membership-related questions and many other chamber related details.  During her office hours, she tends to basic building related matters and is quick to offer member referrals to callers and visitors seeking specific products, services or local attractions.  Jak stays busy maintaining membership accounts, managing new member “meet & greets” and participating in local community engagement opportunities. As our Outreach Director, focusing on member outreach & recruiting, she also duties include:

 

  • Scheduling reservations for use of the Chamber facilities and validating access codes for building use for reservations scheduled both during and after work hours.
  • Maintaining the membership database, assisting with membership related questions and monitoring correspondence for the general Chamber email (mgr@sccchamber.org)
  • Recruiting new members through community outreach activities, networking and leads.
  • New member enrollment – membership benefit review, business directory listings and facility tours.
  • Attending City Council Meetings twice a year to provide our local municipalities regular updates as to Chamber activities and transformations.
  • Representing the Chamber at local events and community activities.
  • Collaborating with Building Use & Marketing Committee Ambassadors to assess membership benefits, expand membership base, boost awareness of Chamber services, and informing the Board of Directors as to building related matters.
  • Assisting with Ticket sales and donations for Chamber Annual Awards Banquets

 

Jak will always make time to answer questions regarding membership benefits, discuss partnerships, take reservations for building access and/or offer ideas for promotion. Supporting our business community is our priority.  Jak’s passion to serve, advocate and initiate connections that strengthen our local communities is reflected in her efforts.  She stands behind our mission and strives to ensure that every South Columbia County Chamber of Commerce member is getting a return on their investment.

If you have a passion for local business and are a Chamber member in good standing, we would love to talk to you. Board positions are a three-year commitment and board members should expect to spend about 5-10 hours a month dedicated to chamber strategy and activities.

Our Chamber Ambassador Program is for Chamber Members who want to volunteer for the Chamber. Our 4 Committees assist with event support, marketing/member support programs, and maintaining the Chamber facilities.
